A Musical Evening with Dr. Bill Barnes

Piedmont Ortho and United Way of Central Georgia (UWCG) are proud to present “A Musical Evening with Dr. Bill Barnes” on Friday, May 20 at The Grand Opera House. The event, which benefits the UWCG Read United program, will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Barnes is not only a well-known orthopedic surgeon, but also a talented songwriter, musician and performer. He will be joined on stage by other talented musicians for a special evening of original music and time-tested favorites.

“I am excited to perform in my hometown of Macon, Georgia, with my band,” Dr. Barnes said. “I formed the Billy Money Band with some of the best session players out of Nashville. It should be a lot of fun and very entertaining. With all the proceeds benefiting United Way of Central Georgia’s Read United program, the evening will be even more special. Please join me in raising funds to help our community be a better place to raise our kids.”

Read United addresses the literacy challenges facing central Georgia. Read United recruits volunteers to tutor kindergarten through third grade students in reading. Through tutoring, volunteers help children increase their reading literacy, become a positive influence in the child’s life, and improve the overall health and wellness of our community.
